Excellent guided tour for the intermediate hiker/climber who wants to experience more of the glacier Did the 6.5 hr extended hike/intro to ice climbing with my husband. We are both avid hikers and I’ve had some experience climbing but my husband has only been indoor climbing years ago. Some knowledge of climbing (or at least knowing you’re not afraid of heights) would be helpful, but Lauraunt was a great teacher and very patient. We had an incredible time on the glacier and couldn’t be more pleased with Laurent’s knowledge of the glacier and his adaptability to tailor the hike/climb to exactly what we were looking for. We wanted to spend most of our time hiking the glacier to see as much of it as possible. We found a wall around 40 ish ft and we both climbed this twice. This was one of the biggest things I wanted to do on our trip to Iceland and it was honestly so much more fun than I was expecting! You definitely have to trust the equipment which is thrilling. Never felt unsafe though. The weather was beautiful and we had a fantastic time. We were looking for a more personalized tour that focused on the hike and enjoying the glacier instead of just getting an Instagram selfie with 20 other people for 10 minutes of time on the glacier like a lot of these other tours. If you’re looking for more adventure, you’ll love this tour. No complaints from us. Make sure you wear good boots and tape your ankles before hand if you’re prone to blisters… the crampons add a decent amount of weight that made our boots rub

Highlight of Our Trip – Expertly Guided Hike Laurent is an expert and tailored the hike to us perfectly. He was kind, patient, and motivating—slowing down when we needed a break and encouraging us to explore some incredible glacier sections. We did so much more than the other companies and rarely saw them while doing our hike. It felt personal, adventurous, and safe. Truly unforgettable. Highly recommend!

Expérience inoubliable ! Une randonnée sur un glacier avec un guide expérimenté, passionné et expert dans son domaine. Laurent vous accueille et vous guide tout au long de ce parcours, il prend le temps et partage volontiers des anecdotes et savoirs sur le glacier et l'Islande (éventuellement son casse-croute ;-)). I WOULD GIVE THEM 10 STARS IF I COULD GREAT tour. Our tour guide, Asi, made sure everyone got the right size crampons and then we walked from the parking area along a path (not the road) to the glacier - crampons and up we went. We went up and across the glacier, walked down and through a sort of slot canyon and then to where the Glacier Lagoon meets it, and sat for about 15 minutes. Then farther up the glacier quite a ways and eventually over the ice cavern. The cavern was beautiful, and Asi suggested we do it at the end to avoid the morning crowds - and he was right. There was one other group in there and they left shortly after we entered. We had the deeper part to ourselves for about 10-15 minutes, and then left as another group was coming in. I WOULD GIVE THEM 10 STARS IF I COULD.

A true adventure of a life time / Laurent is phenomenal! Laurent is a phenomenal glacier guide, and my experiences on his tours have been some of the most memorable, beautiful adventures of my entire life. Laurent seems to be fluent in all things glacier. He has deep and extensive knowledge of how the glaciers move and are formed -- and this knowledge not only makes him extremely responsible and keenly aware of dangers, but also means that he knows all the secret beautiful places away from tourists. I had the joy of experiencing this as a documentary filmmaker with my crew. He found gorgeous, cinematic locations for us to film that also tell a story about how glaciers are changing. He took us inside a moulin, and two different ice caves which were truly some of the most magical, mind-blowingly beautiful places I have ever been. He also brought us up onto the ice cap twice, as well as in remote parts of the outlet glaciers.He kept us safe the entire time and also very entertained! He is a super fun, flexible, and easy going guy who also has a background in filmmaking, which made him even more of a perfect fit for our crew. He is a thoughtful communicator and seems to love and respect the majesty of Iceland's landscapes, as well. The right guide makes a universe of difference when booking a glacier tour, and I cannot imagine a better guide than Laurent!

Day-long glacier hike The day-long glacier hike with Laurent exceeded our wildest expectations. Despite a lot of groups being on the glacier he took us to where others wouldn't venture. He patiently showed us numerous ice caves and ice canyons that we could go in to with his help. We had lunch overlooking icebergs and he even prolonged the tour a bit because of the nice weather. Icefall tours was very flexible in rescheduling our tour due to a storm and it was without a doubt our favourite experience in Iceland. The concept of a small group and a day-long adventure on the glacier means you get to experience so much. We came home with 400 photos. Merci Laurent!
